Do All You Can to Help HAITI!
Hello, All,
There are many things that can be done to help Haiti in their recent disaster which caused a lot of deaths & despair in that country. Please donate as little as $10 by sending text from your phone. It takes literally a couple of seconds but in return you can help to save a life! Just imagine yourself in their shoes and how every dollar can help... I used American Red Cross organization, I hope you will too.

Pick Your Ruffled Blouse
I am not very big fan of chiffon or silk blouses but when it comes to wearing suits, I actually like the look of a dressy jacket and blouse together. Blouses in general add more look, color & variety in the mix. Some of them can be plain & some of them actually stand out even if they are worn under jacket or sweater. One of the key to pick one out is the front look of the blouse. I prefer ruffles or significant color or design to my blouses. I have been browsing through several websites and have found a couple of blouses which are fun to wear to work and also to a dinner or party.
Geren Ford is a great designer of blouses, he delivers an individuality and uniqueness in each design and colors are to die for. I like to be able to switch from my work conservative look into a trendy classic comfortable blouse.
Here are some of my Picks:

- Chelsea Flower Blouse (Image from Bluefly.com)
- DvF Ruffled Blouses (Image from instyle.com)
- Vince Button Front Ruffle Blouse (Image from shopbop.com)

Roarke NYC Beaded Goodies
- ROARKE NYC Headpiece (Image from accidentalchic.com)
- ROARKE NYC Scarf/Necklace (Image from accidentalchic.com)
When I saw these ROARKE NYC accessories, the first thing that came to my mind is how long did it take to make them. Each bead is individually hand crafted into material and actually all of them are closely placed not leaving any empty space. If you look at the material it looks like silk or chiffon in earthy colors which is easy to wear and bend to your wanted shape. ROARKE NYC is truly handmade treasure which stands out from the rest of the accessories of the same kind. You can use them as headpieces, bracelets or necklaces with ability to match them to any piece of clothing like jackets, dresses & even T-shirts. I also fell in love with their website as well, please visit it and let me know what you think.

Color in Style with Susan Farber
As I mentioned in my previous article, I want to be pro-color this year which means I will be looking for something that can promote unique, bright, new colors of each season whether is it within a piece of clothing or accessory. One of my recent finds is Susan Farber Collection of colorful handbags. One of my pet peeves is to splurge on the color when you are wearing some of the pale, nude or classic blacks tones. Having a handbag under your arm in purple, pink or yellow can be the way to draw attention to yourself but make sure you are not overdoing it with crazy jewelry in this case. What do we need to make our lives easier to shop? We need to know how to shop for bargains online. I believe Susan Farber Collection is my season's bargain since her handbags have been marked down upto 50% OFF. Happy Shopping!

New Chanel Trend – Transfer Tattoos
- Chanel Transfer Tattoo (Image from ElleUK.com)
- Chanel Neck Tattoo (Image from Imaxtree.com)
Coming into Spring Season, Chanel has been bragging about its body art which will be available early this Spring. You will be able to have Chanel's transfer tattoos with "clever bangle, bead and floral designs" on your neck, legs or back. Of course, its creating a big buzz since who could have thought that you will be able to have that CC emblem on any part of your body. What if you would want to use it instead of a bracelet on your ankle or imaginary wrap around your thigh worn with a short skirt! These things will be extremely popular and must have for Spring 2010. The problem is they might sold out in no time. So you need to make sure you are in line on March 1st!
Happy Shopping at Chanel!
Avatar Inspired Spring Motifs 2010
After watching notorious movie Avatar, I have been influenced by its colors, 3D effects and cinematography presented. As a writer, I got inspired by its theme, meaning of the events, and its unique colors. Avatar has been by far the most anticipated movie that I have seen. I have expected to see some great effects of the box office phenomenon but I did not expect to have this movie carry on the physiological and political theme. It presented the evil invader and the good spirit fighting for their lives but who has been linked to them in the real world?
Behind the scenes of this highly developed technological creation, I have been influenced by its use of outrageously sharp & at the same, intense color combinations. They have caught my eye during the viewing of the movie and promoted the idea of grey being the shade of a destroyer and blue/green being the sign of a survivor. I have connected the dots between the movie color themes and the upcoming Designer Spring Collections 2010. I translate it as a step to a recovery not only in the fashion industry but in the economy as a whole. Since the recent designer runways indulged in the mix of pinks, blues, violets, greens and yellows shades, it created a positive look at the future. Here are some of the items which worth mentioning and experimenting with from recent runway shows. Each look presents the attempt to build Avatar inspired look. Here are some of My Top Picks for Spring 2010 from BCBG, Ardem, Issey Miyake & DvF.

As a conclusion to my newly inspired personality, I have decided to be more acceptable to colors and be able to use them in the mix, the more the merrier. I also would like to be more open minded and creative with my fashion picks. Its always good to take risks even though I am pro-classic, simple style. What makes you fashionably loud individual is what you have to offer visually to others, something unique, vivid, extreme & entertaining at times.
For the Love of UGGS
Uggs - we love them and at the same time, we hate them. They keep us warm and comfy but not always allowing us to wear a dressy pair of pants or skirt, so what? Where do they come from and how did they become everybody's necessity to have during any season? Pilots have worn them during World War I and were calling them "fug boots" (flying uggs). Then they were reintroduced by Australian surfers in the 60s who wore them to get warm. And even back then, they were interpreted as an ugly boot which started its name of uggies or uggs. Uggs have stayed in Australia for many years and have been developing their reputation locally until 1990s when US footwear company Deckers Outdoor Corporation saw their potential for an American market.
Despite their considerably high prices, Uggs became US sheepskin boot must-have. You can find them in many different colors and lengths. What about the animal print or rain boots? Anything is possible with Uggs. They even have helped to create a collection of celebrity inspired boots which have raised $35,447 in 2007 in the name of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (KatyaUK is a Partner in Hope for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital). I have created their small gallery so you can see these unique signature boots which differed in colors, designs & texture in honor of the Research Hospital.
- Cindy Crawford for Uggs
- Jessica Simpson for Uggs
- Liv Tyler for Uggs
Uggs can be worn during cold and even warm weather, remember Pamela Anderson in the Baywatch episode? Bathing suit and Uggs is the outfit for the beach days. Jeans and Uggs is the outfit for a weekend hang out. They have a comfortable fit and warmth which no other boot has.
If you own Uggs, share their identity on KatyaUK!
