Fashion Show on Bravo Recap
I am so excited to see the Final Fashion Show on Bravo! I don't think designers are as professional as the ones on Project Runway but it makes it even more fun! The last collection of dresses was stunning and it truly was my favorite episode. Would you agree? My favorite designers are:
1. Designer: Reco
2. Designer: Anna
3. Designer: Daniella
Who do you think will win the contest? I believe it would be either Reco or Daniella. I think Reco is very professional in his work and honest about how he feels about other contestants and I admire his honesty and humor. Daniella is way too moody and boring as a person but her work is well done.
I am not fond of Kelly Rowland, I think she makes a horrible TV hostess and does not know how to act around people, even if episodes were rehearsed. I never liked Isaac Mizrahi's designs and fashion sense and the way he is acting in the show is not a plus to his character. He is way too picky and not fair in his decisions, also he is expecting too much from the contestants knowing that they are not professionals. But I have to admit, I do like the DRAMA like all of us, so I am waiting for a good cat fight this week!
These are my thoughts and I cant wait to find out who will be on TOP. What would we do without our TV shows?

Nine West is in Style or for Savings
I have noticed that Nine West has changed their style this year. They have attempted to match this year's trends like Kentaro Studded Sandal which are close in look to famous Gladiators only with heels. The price these run for is $89 which is reasonable compared to Balmain or even LAMB, these run from $300 and up. If you find a comfy pair and it doesn't cost you much, its a double win.
I think shoes are very hard to buy online. Especially the ones that you do not know how they fit, different designer has a different fit. In order to be prepared for online shopping for shoes, you need to test them out in the store. I would go to the store and try a couple of pairs to see what size fits you best, go home and search the web! You will find better deals than the ones at Nine West store and website. This is just a little tip from the shopaholic!

Summer Dresses under $100 – Absolute Bargain
Dont we all like these cute short summer dresses? Dont we want them to be under $100? Dont we wish they were chic, cheap & looked good? I think I found a solution to that, LuLu's offers a wide selection of dresses and other clothing & accessories under $100.
My favorites are dresses which are light material, soft color with a little twist which will look perfect for a summer outing, beach wedding or dinner in the patio. I love to see how a great dress does not require hundreds to be spent on it.
I think its very important that a dress has a great silhouette, material and color. Most of us would prefer either black or brown short dress... especially if it has layered skirt (layers make you look fuller in most pieces). Great pair of stilettos and small clutch will add the dressy look to any simple dress.

CHANEL 2009 Fall Collection – Vote “heads up” or “thumbs down”?
This is something out of the ordinary from Karl this year! I am not sure if he is experimenting to see if people are going to love it or hate it but the collection is definitely not done in a CHANEL classic style that we all know it to be. Do you think new CHANEL Fall Collection 2009 is "heads up" or "thumbs down"?
Do we like the fish tails, extensions for skirts with unproportional three layer dresses or do we still like the classic suit with the button down jackets and knee length skirts made out of the thick colorful tweed material with logo CC on the buttons?
I haven't even mentioned anything about the accessories but they are definitely a MUST SEE & believe the plastic case for your CHANEL 255 classic handbag (called after Coco Chanel first designed it in February 1955). Lets just say I am not ready to put up my Classic on the wall as a picture in the frame. Thoughts please?

Grecian Dresses for the Summer
Megan Fox presented a great look for the summer 2009 with a Grecian dress by KAUFMAN FRANCO, fashion label created by two designers back in 2004. They used both of their last names to create one brand name. Later breaking away from working for other designers and starting a journey on their own.
Fox's one shoulder dress has made the tabloids & started a new trend for this season. She continuously appeared with Kaufman Franco dresses on the red carpet which built a buzz around these newcomers. This style is all about being feminine and free. Fabrics has to be delicate, light weight and "flow in the wind". The idea is to make a woman look graceful and at the same time chic. Accessories are not necessary in this case since the drapery provides the visual dramatic look which concentrates on your curves.
Charlize Theron has added a couple of golden bracelets and chandelier earrings to her white Grecian dress by ROBERTO CAVALLI. High slit has showed bit of her leg which added even more sex appeal. It is important to have a nice posture & confidence when you are wearing this dress since you are presenting the oldest style of Ancient Greeks.
NYC Fashion Schools & Their Honors
Fashion Week in New York is the most busiest week for designers all over the world. Its their center stage to show what are their upcoming designs and also see what other designers have to offer. The youngsters graduating from Fashion Schools like Parsons The New School for Design, Fashion Institute of New York and others are preparing for their entrance into a big world of haute couture by viewing the collections of their successors.
Not everybody was lucky enough to enter the world of fashion without a degree, they had to enter one of the most demanding fashion schools of the world, most located in NYC. Some of the Alumni graduates of these fashion schools are Donna Karen, Narcisco Rodriguez, Calvin Klein & Michael Kors. Years of designing, competing and fighting for the number one spot is not exactly the same as being on hit series Project Runway with other designers who are there to win a chance to showcase their collections during New York's Fashion Week. This is TV presented show which only gives you a chance among small group of people to be part of the fashion extravaganza.
Besides the competition in the overall industry, fashion schools create their own field for competing between each other. Two major competitors are Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. They have created their own "Project Runway" called Fusion 2009 which they celebrated 10 year anniversary this year. As a result of showing their collections to the world, a lot of models & designers who have participated in the show, have been fortunate to appear on TV, cover pages of magazines and also debuted their collections during Fashion Week in New York. Some of them were unique pieces created by talented students who became a great addition to some of the famous designer's teams. A couple of graduates have also signed selling contracts with retail powerhouse Bloomingdales.
It is a great example of how to reach stardom which some of our famous designers have reached and enjoying for years now. It definitely takes a talent , desire to work hard & skill to present a piece of clothing in the way others will accept it. And if you do possess all three, you have a great path ahead of you & you will evetually become part of the Honors.

Tribute to Michael Jackson – The Style Icon
It took me a couple of days to realize that MJ is actually gone. You see the news & you think, is it real? I still cannot believe that one person can live one day & die another in the matter of seconds or minutes? What have touched me the most is to see people who got emotional as they probably would have about their family member or close friend.
Jackson welcomed himself into the homes of millions of families around the world. If you think about it, he was always in tabloids, TV & radio, entertainment websites & other sources for years. People have changed generations, he was still the one who touched his fans from young to old & they always recognized him as a great entertainer & musical icon of our time.
Michael Jackson is not only recognized for his extraordinary music career, he had also influenced the world with his personal style. He was truly a style icon. He had a distinctive approach towards fashion & introduced us to many unique pieces of clothing and accessories. During this time, he was the one who took risks & clearly made his world of fashion daring, exciting & incredibly thrilling.
MJ had started to influence us back in the 80s when he performed on stage in his leather jacket, famous gloves with rhinestones & white socks with black shiny shoes. He established the trend & similar looking jackets have been produced in every color from red to black which presented new military look. It pushed many designers to create similar jackets for their upcoming collections. One of the designers who introduced MJ’s jacket this year is Balmain , it first appeared in UK's Harper's Bazaar in February. Net-a-Porter.com who carried this jacket, sold out of them in 24 hours. Many fashionistas are still on the waiting list, looking into getting this $11,000 jacket as soon as possible and adding it to their couture closets. Who is talking about recession?
Another famous Jackson’s accessory was Fedora Hat , it continued to be a popular piece not only among young crown but throughout every age. Celebrity world has incorporated it in their casual day to day wardrobes as well as used them on the red carpet especially with the dressy suits.
Terrence Howard did a great job by showing up at one of the events in his slick black three piece "gangster" suit with the light grey fedora. Fedoras come in every color, some of them have a silk band & some of them have flowers. Most importantly, they are not only worn by men, they are also popular among female celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Keira Knightly and Kate Moss. On the runway, they are incorporated into collections by famous designers like Calvin Klein & Ralph Lauren, classic American fashion, or Gucci to Dolce & Gabbana who are known for bring us sexy & colorful Italian couture pieces.
We would always remember who influenced these trends and who made sure they live forever. Michael Jackson will definitely stay in our hearts as a greatest pop artist of all time, a humanitarian, style icon & person who touched hearts of many people. His music moved generations, it brought joy & happiness to many around the world. We will never forget the "Thriller" moves, "Billie Jean"'s first moonwalk, "You Rock my World" short movie, attempt to "Heal the World", soft tunes of "Human Nature" and others songs. It is sad that we were forced to say Goodbye to the King of Pop. Farewell & Rest in Peace!
